EDTA-2Na (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt) is a versatile chelating agent widely used in various industries to bind and neutralize metal ions, thereby improving product stability and performance. It is a white, crystalline powder highly soluble in water, with a slightly acidic pH in solution.
Product Applications
Among the salts of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, the disodium salt is the most important. It is an important complexing agent. It is used in chemical copper plating, gold plating, lead-tin alloy plating, electrochemical polishing of steel parts, and solutions before silver plating of copper parts. It can also be replaced by EDTA-Na. It is also used in detergents, liquid soaps, shampoos, agricultural chemical sprays, color-sensitive material rinsing processing bleaching fixing solutions, water purifiers, pH regulators, anti-flocculants, etc. In the reduction initiation system used in the polymerization of styrene-butadiene rubber, disodium EDTA serves as a component of the active agent, mainly used for complexing iron ions and controlling the reaction speed of polymerization.
